Caerleon - offers an insight to Roman times with its Legionary Museum and Fortress Baths; take a stroll to the remains of the amphitheatre and listen for the roar of the crowd.

Chepstow - offers one of the county's formidable border castles, dramatically perched on a clifftop above the River Wye.

Monmouth - another of our beautiful historic towns, including the Monnow Bridge once used for collecting tolls

Newport - Wales' latest city, boasting a medieval cathedral and the intriguing Transporter Bridge.

Tintern - the site of the magnificent Tintern Abbey, the best medieval abbey in Wales, in a picturesque setting next to the river Wye

Usk - a delightful, picture-perfect village built on the River Usk and offering an assortment of independent retailers. It has its own Rural Life Museum which re-opens for the new season on 1  April. Also boasts its own Castle and every Thursday morning a Country Market selling quality local produce is held,and on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month there is a Farmers Market
